My name is Tom Whalen. I am sixteen years old. I race in Extreme Games on a 20'' BMX bike at speeds in excess of 70mph. I am looking for sponsorship for the 2004 season. Here is my story:

During the 2002 season I began my gravity bike career. With my hard work, determination, and some engineering skills I was able to obtain the rank of 7th place in the world by the GBA (Gravity Bike Association) in only half a race season. For the 2002 season, I placed third overall in the Gravity Sports International (GSI) standings. In the 2003 season, I earned the top award of Gravity Bike Champion in the GSI Series, and placed 3rd overall in street luge. I have raced against some of the best G-bikers in the world, like Matthew McLemore, Fermin Rodrigues, and Neil Orta, who have raced G-bikes in the ESPN X-Games. There are no age classes for gravity bike racing. Last year, I was the youngest competitive gravity bike racer in the world.

During the 2004 season I will be racing both gravity bikes and streetluge and I am looking for support to get the job done. For your business, I am a walking billboard to whom the kids really listen. Since our sport uses only gravity we won't need high cost engines and fuel that makes most high profile sponsorship impossible.

I hope you will be a part of my winning team for 2004. For the 2004 season I plan to attend all GSI races held in New Hampshire and Maine as well as the Madison County Gravity Festival in New York, and the „Fire on the Mountain¾ race in Ansted, WV. Many respectable and accomplished riders come out for this east coast race series attracting as many as 5,000+ spectators. Ultimately, my goal is to catch a race or two on the west coast as well.

Your sponsorship will go towards parts, equipment, safety gear, entry fees, and travel expenses outside of New England.
